Hamish Baker, co-founder and Director of TEG Risk, is a leading expert in Hazardous Substances and or Explosive Areas management, heading TEG Risk’s Hazardous Areas team. With nearly two decades of experience in safety engineering and risk management, Hamish has built a reputation for delivering advanced safety solutions for industries grappling with the serious risks posed by explosive atmospheres and combustible dusts.

As the leader of TEG Risk’s Hazardous Areas team, Hamish oversees a group of specialists who conduct risk assessments, hazardous area classifications, and implement best-practice safety controls for high-risk environments. His leadership ensures that TEG Risk provides tailored solutions to prevent dust explosions and ignition hazards in sectors like food and beverage, manufacturing, and chemical processing.

Key areas of expertise:

• Hazardous area classification for combustible dusts and gases, following international standards (AS/NZS 60079.10.1-2022 and AS/NZS 60079.10.2-2016).
• Process Safety HAZOP’s – facilitation and scribing
• Extensive experience managing Major Accident Hazard sites under strict COMAH/SEVESO regulations, focusing on process safety, and hazardous substance management.
